Prevention of Desertification and Land Degradation using Black Saxaul in Arid Conditions

چکیده

The harsh climate of the arid zone determines several biological features in black saxaul plantations. Therefore, study growth and condition artificial plantations, depending on use physiologically active moisture-absorbing substances biostimulants, is particular practical importance. In Moinkum sands Zhambyl region (Kazakhstan), observations development places where biostimulants were used continued at industrial plantings 2018, 2019, 2020. purpose these studies was to prevent desertification by improving preservation forest crops saxaul. various water-retaining compounds (hydrogels), stimulants (Epin-Extra), fertilizers, as well their combined use, had a positive effect. biostimulators plant cultivation increased average diameter height seedlings an 30.1 38.6%, respectively. best effect stimulators shown with hydrogel, Epin-Extra (plant biostimulator), ready-made mixture fertilizer, Epin. substances, biostimulators, nitrogen fertilizers affected second subsequent years after planting.

Development of topsoil grain size index for monitoring desertification in arid land using remote sensing

The grain size composition of topsoil characterizes the soil texture and other physical properties. The coarsening of topsoil grain size is a visible symbol of land degradation; thereby the change in topsoil grain size can be potentially used to monitor desertification using remote sensing. This study proposes a new index for detecting topsoil grain size composition through ground in situ soil ...

Design and Development of Early Warning System for Desertification and Land Degradation

Early warning systems are key components of strategies to reduce risk. This research, by adopting a systematic approach in the management of the risk of desertification and by including previously developed models and systems, offers an integrated efficient structure in terms of early warning for the risk of desertification as a pilot system for semi-arid areas of west Golestan Province in IRAN...

Assessing Land Degradation and Desertification Using Vegetation Index Data: Current Frameworks and Future Directions

Land degradation and desertification has been ranked as a major environmental and social issue for the coming decades. Thus, the observation and early detection of degradation is a primary objective for a number of scientific and policy organisations, with remote sensing methods being a candidate choice for the development of monitoring systems. This paper reviews the statistical and ecological...

Assessing the Vulnerability of the Land Using the IDI Combination Model in Arid and Semi arid Regions (Khorasan Razavi)

Land vulnerability one of the major global challenges as an objective case of degradation of arid, semi-arid and semi-humid ecosystems caused by natural processes and human activities. However, in order to assess the vulnerability of the land, it is necessary to know exactly the degree of tolerance of ecosystems and the use of indigenous knowledge systems to external conditions. The present stud...

Remote Sensing and Geomatics Applications for Desertification and Land Degradation Monitoring and Assessment

The combined output of LADAMER should be a comprehensive as well as spatially explicit image of land degradation effects and associated processes for the relevant European Mediterranean countries, in particular for the prototype region of the Iberian Peninsula. It will hence serve as a kind of integrating project between former research approaches and ongoing monitoring and assessment efforts. ...
